What can we help you find?
Your home has an outdoor remote that shows your water usage. This is a convenience for customers, so that CFU's meter readers can record you water usage without coming inside once a month to read the water meter.
Every three years we need to verify that the usage recorded by the indoor water meter matches the readings on the outdoor remote. If the two don't match, you are either being billed too much or too little.
You can call CFU to arrange a time when you can let a meter reader into your home to verify the indoor and outdoor readings. Or you can read both devices yourself and report the results online or by phone. Watch this to learn how.
CFU's backflow prevention program is designed to protect our community's tap water from accidental contamination that can occur due to cross-connections. Customer-owned lawn irrigation systems are the most common backflow hazard. To prevent lawn fertilizers and insecticides from entering the public water supply, all irrigation systems must be fitted with a backflow prevention assembly and inspected annually by a registered backflow testing firm.
