Explore Exciting Careers in the Utility Industry at CFU Discover Day

Join us on Tuesday, October 21 from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. for our first CFU Discovery day where students will explore exciting careers in the utility industry. This is a free event open to the first 30 Cedar Falls Schools students in grades 9 through 12. (Qualifies as excused absence.)
The event will be a full day of hands-on activities and tours to give students a true picture of what a career in the utility industry looks like.
Students will:
- Experience a day in the life of careers in network engineering, energy efficiency, electric line work, construction and more
- Try hands-on activities like fiber splicing, water testing, meter rebuilds, electric line work and more
- Connect with experts working in the utility field
- Satisfy the job shadow requirement to apply for the CFU Scholarship
- Enjoy a free lunch and the chance to win prizes
