Residential customers may be eligible for utility bill assistance through the Residential Utility Disruption Prevention Program.
The program provides federal funding to Iowa residents impacted by COVID-19.
Eligible customers that are at risk of disconnection because they have experienced a loss of income due to COVID-19 may receive up to $2,000 to be used towards utility bill costs.
The program provides relief in the form of direct payments to utility providers for electric, natural gas or water services between March 17, 2020 and October 31, 2020.
Applications will be accepted through November 20 or until all funds have bene exhausted.
