Save up to $100 on Tree Purchase with Plant-A-Tree Program
on Friday, April 24, 2020
Social distancing measures and spring weather makes now a good time to get out in your yard and plant a tree.
Beyond environmental and health benefits, planting a tree can help you save energy and reduce your utility bill.
Trees that shade your home or block wind can reduce energy used for air conditioning or heat by as much as 30 percent.
Plus Cedar Falls TREES and Cedar Falls Utilities can help you with the cost of a tree purchase.
Cedar Falls TREES is a nonprofit organization and partners with CFU to support the Plant-A-Tree program.
When you purchase an eligible tree from a participating retailer, you will receive a 40% discount up to $100 per year per family.
CFU contributes towards the cost of the tree, passing the savings along to you at the point of purchase. No rebate forms or paperwork is required.
To qualify for reimbursement, the planting site, soil and moisture conditions must be suitable for the species of the tree selected. Choose any tree from one of 40 eligible species specifically suited for Cedar Falls.
The discount is provided on a first come, first served basis until funding for the year is exhausted and is available now through October 31. You must receive electric service from CFU to be eligible.
Be sure to contact your preferred participating retailer to learn about any updated hours or policies regarding the evolving COVID-19 health threat.
