How to recycle old electronics in Black Hawk County

Recycle old electronics and dispose of household hazardous materials at the Black Hawk County Solid Waste Management Commission event on Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Waterloo Waste Treatment Plant (3505 Easton Ave).

Safely dispose of lawn chemicals, light bulbs, non-Alkaline batteries and other items.

This is an excellent opportunity to dispose of non-flat screen, Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) containing TVs or computer monitors. Each household can recycle two CRT screens for free. Additional items will be $5 each.

Flat screen TVs and monitors, computer accessories, game systems and VCR/DVD players will be recycled at no cost.

On the day of the event, please follow the signs from the intersection of Highway 218 and Mitchell Avenue to the drop-off site. For safety reasons, you must stay in your vehicle. Event volunteers will unload your items for you.

All loads should be 100% covered and secured.

The event is open to all Black Hawk County residents. Some fees may apply. No business waste will be accepted.

More information about the event and acceptable items can be found at wastetrac.org.
