Electronics & Hazardous Waste Disposal

Posted on Monday, February 27, 2017

Start your spring cleaning at the upcoming Black Hawk County Solid Waste Management Commission electronics recycling and household hazardous materials disposal event.

Spring Hazardous Waste Disposal
Saturday, April 8
9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Waterloo Waste Water Treatment Plant
3505 Easton Avenue, Waterloo

The event is open to all Black Hawk County residents to recycle old electric and electronic devices (certain fees apply), and dispose of toxic substances from their homes and garages.

No business waste will be accepted. This is an excellent opportunity to safely dispose of CFL light bulbs.

On the day of the event, please follow the signs from the intersection of Highway 218 and Mitchell Avenue to the drop-off site. For safety reasons, you must stay in your vehicle. Event volunteers will unload your items for you. All loads brought to the drop-off shall be covered 100% and fully secured in all areas.

A detailed list of items accepted and prohibited at the event and information about electronic recycling fees can be found at: www.wastetrac.org.
