Cedar Falls High School Students Earn CFU Scholarship

Cedar Falls High School students Mary Flikkema, Owyn Reilly and Drake Wetlaufer were selected as the 2025 Cedar Falls Utilities scholarship recipients.

Applicants must continue their education after high school in a utility related field and complete a CFU job shadow. Students receive $1,500 towards tuition.

Drake and Owyn will attend Northwest Iowa Community College to pursue a career as an electric line worker and Mary plans to study energy production at the Colorado School of Mines.

CFU's scholarship program introduces students to careers in the utility industry while helping build a pipeline of skilled future candidates.

Up to three $1,500 scholarships are available each year. More details are available by contacting the Cedar Falls High School counseling office.

Students interested in pursuing a utility related career are encouraged to complete a job shadow with CFU. To learn more, contact CFU's Employee and Legal Services department at 319-268-5254.
