How to Quickly Report Your Utility Outage

At CFU we work to keep your utility and broadband services connected 24 hours a day. 

Even so your service can be interrupted at times by lightning wind falling trees and other hazards. We make it easy and fast to contact CFU if you have an outage. 

Quickly report an electric internet TV or phone outage in any of the ways below. You will need your CFU account number OR a phone number that matches our customer records. 

Methods to Report an Outage

Use the App

The CFU2Go app is available for your Apple or Android device. Download the app from your app store and set up your account so you are ready if you experience an outage. Learn more at


Visit and click the Submit Online link on our homepage under Report Utility Outage. Then select the Report Online link for the appropriate outage.

To report an outage online you will be asked to enter your CFU account number or a telephone number that matches our customer records.

To update the phone numbers we have on file please call Customer Service at 319-268-5280 weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Call 319-268-6999 to report an outage by phone. Usually your call will be answered by a CFU employee. 

During a widespread power outage this number is answered by an automated system that enables CFU to take a large volume of calls at one time. When the automated system is active you will be asked to enter a phone number that matches your customer records or your CFU account number to report your outage.
