Phone Service Progress Update

If you signed up as a Charter Subscriber for CFU phone service, here is an update on our installation schedule. Currently we are connecting service only in specific neighborhoods, based upon the type of CFU equipment in customers’ homes.

CFU uses two brands of fiber optic terminals. Telephone service works equally well throughout our network. However, testing has shown that phone connections can be knocked out by routine service plan changes or loss of power in locations with one type of fiber terminal. Rather than install service that may not be stable, we have temporarily stopped connecting customers at locations with this type of fiber terminal.

CFU is working on a solution that will enable us to resume connecting Charter Subscribers throughout the city in the order they signed up for service. We’ll post updates on telephone install progress at cfu.net/phone.
