Cedar Falls High School Students Earn 2026 CFU Scholarship

Cedar Falls High School students Cayden Bass and Landyn Backstrom were selected as the 2026 Cedar Falls Utilities scholarship recipients. 

Applicants must continue their education after high school in a utility related field and complete a CFU job shadow. Students receive $1,500 towards tuition. 

Landyn will attend Northwest Iowa Community College and Cayden will attend Hawkeye Community College, both pursuing a career as an electric line worker.

CFU's scholarship program introduces students to careers in the utility industry while helping build a pipeline of skilled future job candidates. 

Up to three $1,500 scholarships are available each year. More details are available by contacting the Cedar Falls High School counseling office.

Complete a Job Shadow at CFU
