CFU Gas & Water Operations Manager Recognized for Outstanding Service to the Water Industry

Jerald Lukensmeyer recently received the George Warren Fuller Award at the 2026 American Water Works Association (AWWA) Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.

The George Warren Fuller Award is AWWA's highest national honor, recognizing individuals for distinguished service, leadership and lasting contributions to the water industry.

Jerald Has Served Cedar Falls for 46 Years

Jerald has served Cedar Falls Utilities and the Cedar Falls community for 46 years and is currently the Gas and Water Operations Manager. Throughout his career, he has played an integral role in providing customers with safe, reliable drinking water while advancing the water profession through his leadership and expertise.

"The ways in which Jerald's depth of knowledge of the industry, as well as his exceptional character, have positively impacted Cedar Falls are immeasurable," says Susan Abernathy, CFU General Manager.
