Our HD receiver options are described in detail below. See a quick side-by-side comparison of features and prices here.
Multi-room DVR System
With our multi-room DVR system, TVs in any room can schedule and play recordings from a shared library. You can start playing a recording in one room, pause it, and resume in another room.
Here's how it works. One of your TVs is connected to a DVR (digital video recorder). The DVR is an HD receiver with a hard drive that stores your recordings. You should connect the DVR to the TV you watch the most.
Your TVs in other rooms are each connected to an HD receiver. With our optional multi-room setup, these receivers can play back the recordings stored on the DVR. You can also schedule and delete recordings from any room. When playing a recorded program, you can pause, rewind or fast forward on any TV. When watching a live program you will be able to pause, rewind and resume only on the TV connected to the DVR.
All of the TVs will have access to the Video On Demand menu, where you can rent new HD movies and watch free catch-up episodes of current series from top TV networks.
You control the DVR and Receivers through the interactive program guide (IPG) that's displayed on your screen. View the IPG Quick Reference brochure or complete user guide.

HD DVR (without multi-room set up)
A DVR enables you to watch, record and playback HD shows on one TV. You can pause, rewind and resume live TV or recorded shows while you watch. Record one show while you watch another, or record two shows at a time. Rent movies and play free catch-up episodes from the Video On Demand menu.
The DVR (that's digital video recorder) is an HD receiver with a built-in hard drive that stores your recordings. If you have a second DVR in another room, the two will not be able to share recordings. If you have one or more HD Receivers in other rooms, they will not be able to play back the recordings stored on the DVR. If you want to be able to access your recorded programs from any room, you need the multi-room setup described above.
You control the DVR through the interactive program guide (IPG) that's displayed on your screen. View the IPG Quick Reference brochure or complete user guide.

The tuner is only 4x4x2", so it hides behind your TV for a cord-free look. The remote control provided with the tuner can change the channels even when the tuner is hidden from view. See the EZ HD user guide.
