A Letter from CFU General Manager Steve Bernard

CFU General Manager Steve BernardAs we continue to adjust to the coronavirus (COVID-19) health threat, I want to provide you with an update on the steps Cedar Falls Utilities has taken to fulfill our mission of delivering safe and reliable utility services while also protecting the health and safety of our community.

We have taken measures similar to those of utilities across the country to ensure we are able to continue to serve our customers. We have closed our customer service office to the public and have adjusted our policies and procedures so employees can maintain safe social distancing practices and follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and the Iowa Department of Public Health.

We do not anticipate any disruption to electric, gas, water or communication services due to COVID-19.

Our crews are on hand 24/7 to respond to emergencies and maintain vital services. Customer service and help desk staff continue to be available to address your questions and concerns over the phone. Work outside to upgrade and replace infrastructure continues as planned.

Drinking water continues to be safe. The disinfection method we use is equipped to stop viruses like coronaviruses from contaminating water.

In this difficult and unprecedented time I know some of our customers may be facing financial hardship. To help, service disconnections are suspended, late fees are temporarily waived and flexible payment options are available. If you are concerned about paying your utility bill, I encourage you to call our customer service office at 319-268-5280 and together we can create a plan to help get you through this time.

I know we are all finding difficulty in our daily lives in these uncertain times. We are here for you and will continue to provide you with essential utility services.
