CFU Embraces and Practices Net Neutrality
on Wednesday, December 27, 2017
In December, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted to rollback net neutrality regulations enacted in 2015. Net neutrality is the principle that internet service providers should give consumers access to all legal content and applications on an equal basis, without favoring some sources or blocking others.
This move by the FCC got lots of attention around the country. Some customers may be wondering: where does Cedar Falls Utilities stand?
CFU customers can be confident that our network management practices will not change due to the actions of the FCC.
Our network management is focused on customer satisfaction. We want to earn and keep your business by providing the best possible customer experience every day, for every online destination.
With that goal in mind, we embrace and practice net neutrality. We did not need to change our network practices when net neutrality regulations were put in place two years
ago. And, we won’t change anything now.
In other words, CFU does not block, throttle or prioritize any traffic on our network. We believe the internet must remain free and open, and that is the way we choose to operate our network.
