No Change for CFU Electric, Gas and Internet Rates Next Year
on Tuesday, November 28, 2017
In November, the CFU Board of Trustees set utility rates for 2018. Electric and gas rates will stay the same in Cedar Falls next year. 2018 will be the fifth consecutive year we have been able to hold rates steady in the electric and gas utilities.
Prices will not change for business and residential internet and phone customers next year. See the box to the right for information about planned internet speed increases. Customers will see modest adjustments to water rates and select TV rates.
The average residential water customer will see an increase of $1.03 per month. The modest increase next year will keep pace with rising operating costs and pay for planned water system improvements.
Rates for Basic and Basic Plus TV service plans will go up next year, due to a 40% increase over the last three years in the fees we pay to the owners of local broadcast stations and cable networks. CFU TV customers will see an increase of $5 or $7 per month, depending
upon your service plan.
For a schedule of all 2018 rates and fees, please call CFU at 268-5280 or visit www.cfu.net/terms.
