Payment Convenience Fee Implemented

CFU has implemented a convenience fee for payments made by credit card, debit card or electronic check, online or over the phone. This fee is $4.75 per $500 (or less) payment. Please note, we continue to offer several free payment options.
Previously, each time a customer chose to pay their utility bill via credit card, debit card or electronic check, CFU paid a processing fee. Due to the increasing number of customers who choose to pay this way, these fees now total more than $200,000 per year.
CFU will continue to accept payment by credit card, debit card, or electronic check. However, now customers who choose to pay with a card or electronic check will be responsible for the cost of using these forms of payment. This will help keep rates down for all customers, no matter how they choose to pay.
The $4.75 convenience fee is charged by an independent payment provider and Cedar Falls Utilities will not receive any portion of the fee.

Free Ways to Pay Your Bill
- Automatic payment (ACH) from a savings or checking account
- Payment with check, cash or money order made by mail, deposited in our drop box or completed at our customer service counter
- Payment through your financial institution – via internet banking, bill pay, EFT or bank check
- Register your Utility Account through CFU's Web Service Center and make a one-time electronic payment from your bank account
