Cedar Falls TREES provides cost sharing funds for planting shade trees in Cedar Falls.
We are a non-profit organization working in partnership with Cedar Falls Utilities to promote and support tree planting for energy conservation and environmental benefits. The organization involves volunteers in program development, site and species selection, and educating the public about tree planting, proper care for trees and the benefits of urban forestation. Well-placed trees will be instrumental in reducing energy use for years to come, benefiting everyone in the community by reducing the demand for electric generation facilities and mitigating carbon emissions. Meetings are held on the six times per year at Cedar Falls Utilities and are open to the public. Meeting dates for 2013 are February 20, April 24, May 22, August 21 and 24, November 13.
