If your internet connection seems slow, try resetting your cable modem. Close your web browser. Unplug the modem, and if you use a router unplug that, too. Plug in the modem, and wait until all four lights on the display are lit and not blinking. Plug in the router if you use one; wait a few seconds and try your connection again.
Your computer's performance may be slowed by viruses or malware. We strongly recommend you protect your computer by keeping your operating system up to date and using virus protection software of your choice. CFU provides internet subscribers with Kaspersky anti-virus software at no charge.
Persistent slow speeds or frequent need to reset your modem may indicate that your modem should be replaced. Please call the Help Desk for assistance at 319-268-5221.
