Set-top box functions are controlled by the interactive program guide (IPG). If the box loses power for more than a minute or two, the guide data are lost. After power to the box is restored, it takes about 20 minutes to download the guide data and restore the box to work normally. During this time, the program listings will say "to be announced."
If you have set up a locks PIN to restrict access to networks or programs, you won't be able to enter the PIN and view restricted programming until the guide data are restored.
