How can I see closed captioning on my HDTV?

If your TV is hooked to a set-top box, you must turn on the closed-caption feature in the box. Follow these steps:

  • Start with your TV and your cable box on. Press CABLE on your remote control to select the cable box.
  • Turn your cable box off by pressing POWER, and immediately press MENU on your remote control.
  • Your TV now displays the on-screen set-up menu for the cable box.
  • Use the arrow keys on the front of your set-top box or on your remote control to scroll down to the Closed Caption item in the menu. Press the right arrow button to enable closed captions.
  • Press the POWER button to exit the menu, save your settings, and turn your cable box back on.
