Blocking unwanted networks, programs or titles

Download illustrated content control instructions pdf

You can use controls in either your TV or your set-top box to block content you don't want. To use your TV, check your owner's manual for directions on how to activate the V-Chip feature. To use your set-top box, follow these steps:

  • Press menu on your remote control, select the padlock icon and press enter
  • If you have not previosly done so, you will be prompted to enter a four-digit number that will be your locks PIN. If you've already set up a locks PIN, you will be prompted to enter it. (Be sure to record your locks PIN so you will remember it later.)
  • After your PIN is set up or entered, the locks menu will be displayed. This user-friendly menu allows you to block programming by network, movie rating, TV rating, or TV content. It also allows you to hide the titles of adult programs so they will not show in the program guide, or set up a separate purchase PIN that must be entered before viewers can purchase On Demand or Pay Per View programs.
